Absztrakt (kivonat)

The study provides an analysis of the Arab regional situation in light of the transformations and the regional and international changes in 2018. These challenges, resulting from the changes taking place in the region and the concern for their stability, raise questions about the future of the situation in the Arab region. In this research, we will attempt to answer the questions related to the strategic shifts in the Arab scene, while looking at the reasons of the most important challenges related to the positions of the international and regional parties, and the attempts of the external powers to influence this course and turn its tide in line with its interests. This study is divided into three parts, which include the most important international factors that will affect the future of the Arabs, analyze the reality of internal Arab challenges and the most important conflict situations, and study the issues linked to the future of the area. In the first chapter, the study focuses on the changes in the Arab regional situation, which resulted from new transformations in international relations, and the inability of the Arab side to adapt to these external variables, which posed great challenges for the Arab region and its future through three main issues which are, international changes and conflicts over spheres of influence (America and Russia), conflict over energy zones (gas) and the Sunni-Shiite regional rifts (Turkey, Iran and Saudi Arabia). In the second chapter, the study focuses on the Arab-Arab issues, especially the regional and Arab interferences in the conflict on Syria and the changes taking place in the region through 8 main challenges which are the collapse of nationalism and Arab unity, the importance of the Arab-Israeli conflict and the Palestinian issue, the rise of political Islam and the emergence of new actors in the Arab arena, Separatist Movements (Kurdish Issue), the failure of revolutions and the democratic process, and the impact of the situation in Syria, the failure of Arab development policies, and decline of middle class. Furthermore, in this paper, I am going to use interviews with two experts who have knowledge and experiences in the Middle East situation, and I will take advantage from it into the research to strengthen more my argumentation. In the third section of the study, I analyse some of the expected results of the challenges facing the region. I will answer four important questions related to the future of the Arab region, with the adoption of the analytical method. The questions are what is the future for the Arab region after Arab Spring? What is the future for The Middle East with the spread of sectarianism and the decline of democratic and revolutionary forces? What is the future for Arab states with the division, political unrest, and extremism? What is the fate of Syrian War and what is the impact of that war on international alliances? In conclusion, the paper does not address the search for solutions to these challenges. There are many Arab and international strategies and policies that try to find solutions to the Arab region (the most important of which is the implementation of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of 2030). But seeks to analyse why these strategies and policies fail, and the inability to apply them to get out of Arab crises. I will include some expectation and possibility about the fate of the Syrian War.
