Canton is a province with richest hot spring resources in China. The hot spring water resources in this place are very high-quality, which is very suitable for the development of health care projects. In the boom of hot spring development, all cities in Canton are in vigorously developing hot spring resources to build a hot spring tourist destination. It has developed more than three hundreds hot springs, making it one of the provinces with the largest number of hot springs in China. Hot spring resort tourism industry has become an important branch of the tourism industry in Canton and has become the focus of attention. It plays a leading role in demonstration and guides the healthy and sustainable development of the national hot spring resort tourism industry.According to statistics from relevant departments, currently about 76% of the hot spring industry in Canton is independently developed and constructed. This kind of operation and management method has caused most hot spring companies to lack excellent overall planning. Plus, the hot spring tourism industry blindly imitates each other, the hot spring tourism products are the same, lacking distinctive features and insufficient personalization, which makes them unable to highlight the uniqueness and non-replicability of the product, and cannot establish a distinctive Brand. In addition,the management model is backward and immature, which can no longer attract more tourists, and cannot meet the needs of the development of modern tourism and leisure vacation markets. The upgrading of hot spring tourism industry in Canton is the trend of the times.Analyzing the status quo of hot spring tourism, solving the problem of hot spring tourism, accelerating the upgrading of the hot spring tourism industry, and establishing a new type of hot spring tourism are of great significance to Canton. The hot spring resort tourism industry in Canton urgently needs strategic development and upgrading to ensure the continuous, healthy and harmonious development of it. The research results provide a practical basis for the future development of Canton's hot spring tourism industry, and also have reference significance for the upgrade of hot spring tourism industries in other provinces in China. Based on the perspective of industrial development and upgrading, my thesis will have a case study on Bishuiwan Hot Spring Resort and conduct a comprehensive research on the hot spring resort tourism industry in Canton, China.
